What I Like Best about Living in the United States, are short statements by our students, in appreciation of Veterans’ Day. “What I like best about living in the United States is my freedom. I have my rights. I can choose my own decisions. I don’t have to do what everybody else is doing. I can do what I want at any time.” – Isaac, 6th grade “It (the United States) always has that good smell, and those big hills that are so nice to look at.” – Bradley, 5th grade “We shall live in peace and to live free and have our own land.” – Blake, 5th grade “I enjoy America a lot. But the privilege that I like best is my right for freedom. We don’t have to be controlled by anyone. Many people who don’t live in the U. S. have many problems. Some face dictatorship. Some people are forced into slavery. Those people can move to America so they do not face dictatorship or slavery. I like the fact that I am not forced to do anything.” – Matthew, 5th grade “I am really happy to live in the U.S.A. The people here are nice. I like English and I am really thankful to the veterans for fighting for this country’s freedom. The U.S.A. is really fun and peaceful. I like Veteran’s Day!” – Claudia, 5th grade “What I like best is my freedom! Without my freedom I would probably be miserable. I am so thankful for all the brave men and women who have served in the military to ensure us with freedom! Without them we might now have what we have today. Freedom is an awesome opportunity that we all should be thankful for!” – Ania, 8th grade “The thing I like most about living in the United States is the freedom I have. I have the freedom to learn, and the freedom to choose what I want to be. I have the freedom of speech and freedom to worship God. I have the freedom to choose for myself. The U.S. gives me freedom!” – Sara, 7th grade Cup of Soup is available for students who forget their lunch, the price is $0.50. For PE on Wednesdays and Friday, students need to have athletic shoes, which stay on their feet when running. Students in grades 5 and 6 need to bring in a large empty can, clean with no label on it for a special Science Project. The Annual School Christmas Program will be at the Longmont Seventh-day Adventist Church December 20 at 11 a.m. Please put this on your calendar.
