What We Learned from Todd Huston:

“Todd Huston – He said that God will always be with you and help you. He lost a leg from a boat accident. What he did was impressive. He kept trying to live life and do the things he can do.” – Blake, 5th

“Todd Huston – Never give up in life. Never say, “No.” Don’t get in the way of the boat. It can be hard, but keep growing. Listen to God. Never sleep on a cliff. Always be aware of things. Listen to instruction. Love God. Go with someone.” – Bradley, 5th

“Todd Huston has one leg and the other leg is like a robotic leg. He climbed all 50 states’ highest mountains. He lost his leg when he was fourteen. He was in the water when the boat was coming back and he swam but his legs were caught in propeller, then they heard a thud. They pulled him up, but his left leg was gone below his knee. His right upper right leg had also been caught and the bone was showing. He survived. God saved his life, and he is faithful to God.” – Isaac, 6th

“Todd Huston climbed 50 mountains with one leg. His lost his right leg when he was fourteen years old. When he was swimming, he cut his leg with a boat. They got him to a small and big hospital. After a few years he got a leg made of wood, that he used to climb mountains.” – Claudia, 5th

“If you never give up you’ll always complete a challenge. If you always hang on you will never fail. If you’re always faithful to God, He will always help you out.” – Matthew, 5th

“I learned that you can do anything as long as you believe in God. And when times are bad just believe in God. He was an incredible climber and other people did things like that.” – Rebecca, 5th

“When things don’t go well you can pray to God and open your heart to listen to Him. You must always get up each time you fall. Nature reflects the majesty of the Lord in your heart. To see the majesty of God, you must look in your heart. God can turn all bad situations into opportunities to reach out to others and to remain strong in the Lord.” – Sara, 7th

“We can do the impossible. We will always run into challenges. He became the first person to climb the highest mountains in every state (50 states) with one leg. He completed this in 66 days, 2 hours, and 3 minutes – breaking the world record. He climbed many mountains. He was a mountain climber. God us always there with us. He felt inspired by God to do this. He felt that God wanted him to do this. No matter where we go and no matter what we do, God is always there right beside us.” – Ania, 8th

“I learned that Todd Huston let God lead into his life and Todd overcame the obstacles and problems that came toward him. He set his mind to climbing the highest peaks of every mountain of all 50 states, and he did even though he lost his leg in a boat accident. Todd believed in God’s picture of his life and went for it.” – Dakota, 7th

“I learned about mountains, all different kinds of mountains, like Sunflower Mountain.” – Melody, 2nd

“Todd Huston – mountain climber.” – Marissa, 1st
