Aspen Christian School
20 August 2009

Dear Parents:

Welcome back to a new school year. We are glad that you have chosen Aspen Christian School for your child’s education.

We have a number of things happening with this year. Mrs. Roberts will be teaching 7th and 8th grade math and 6th grade reading part time, and 7th & 8th grade Social Studies. Mrs. Gee will be teaching music one day a week. Mrs. Kridel will be teaching P.E. 2 days a week. Miss Petersen will be assisting and teaching where needed.

H.M.S. Richards School at Campion needs boys, grades 5-8 to join a soccer league with them. They are also in need of girls, grades 5-8 for a volleyball league. If you are interested in participating please talk with me or call H.M.S. Richards School, 970 667 2427.

For those who have not signed up for a hot lunch, I will be talking with you to find out your week and your menu. Hot lunch will begin Friday August 28.

Please send in a package of plastic spoons and a package of plastic forks for students to have available for lunch.

There are still a couple of jobs that need doing here at the school. If you are able to help with the following, please let me know:
1. Tree trimmed over lunch tables
2. Swings down
3. Weeding
4. Checking the roof

Remember the doors are locked during the school day. Please knock, and if you want to make sure we hear you, knock on the east glass doors of the school.

Remember if you need to pick your child up before 2:30 p.m., please sign him/her out on the correct list. Also when you come in to visit, please sign in on the guest log. Each of these sheets are on the heater by the west glass doors.

As required by AHERA, the federal law that governs asbestos in schools, we are informing you via this letter that our school has been inspected for asbestos. Some non-friable asbestos containing material is present.

This material does not present any health hazard as long as proper maintenance procedures are followed. This we are doing. There is a Management Plan in our files that is available for you to look at if you so desire. This Management Plan gives instructions regarding the maintenance procedures for materials that contain asbestos. Feel free to contact the school principal or the School Board Chairperson if you need further information.
