Newsletter 11-11-09 Aspen Christian School 11 November 2009 Dear Parents: Hot Lunch this Friday, Burritos. We want to thank each of you for your support of the Hot Lunch Program. Remember if you have taken any school cookware home, to please return it on Monday. Also any linens you may have taken home to wash, please return. Remember, hands are to be washed before preparing food. Gloves are to be worn while serving. Food is to be kept at the correct temperature. Remember, we have to comply with Boulder County Health Department regulations. School will dismiss next Friday, November 20 at 12 noon, for Thanksgiving Vacation. School will resume Monday, November 30. Enjoy your vacation! The School Christmas program is scheduled for Saturday, December 19 at 10:50 a.m. This will take place at the Longmont Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1712 Mountain View Avenue, Longmont. Please reserve your date for this event. We are in need of facial tissue for the students. Please send in a box or two, so those whose noses are running can take care of them. For students in grades 6-8, work is expected to be neatly done, readable, questions answered in complete sentences, with correct spelling, and punctuation. It is also expected that when a student receives a paper back to recycle, that this will be done in a timely manner. Assignments missing more than a week will not be listed on the Weekly Report Card. A student can still complete them for reduced credit. Most work should be completed in school, if a student is using their time wisely. If an assignment is not completed, it should be taken home for home work. If a paper has to be recycled more than once, a deduction in points will take place. If you have a question, please ask. There are still a couple of jobs that need doing here at the school. If you are able to help with the following, please let me know: 1. Weeding 2. Checking the roof 3. Check the swings 4. Leaves raked/blown Remember the school snow policy is if your school district has declared a snow day or late start, we will follow that directive. But the ultimate decision about your student coming to school is up to you. If it is not safe to come to school from where you live, then take it as a snow day.
